The Week of September the 6th
By now you should have a much better idea of what the course is going to be like. I hope it is clear that you really do need to attend class and take detailed notes. The tests are not easy; I expect you to be know them extremely well. The way to do that is to not only take thorough notes in class but to study the notes outside of class along with the review questions. (There's more you should do but I'll discuss it as we get closer to the first exam.) Speaking of the review questions, by now you should be able to answer up to at least #30.
As for what we will cover in class this week, Tuesday will be a continuation of the discussion about culture with an emphasis on some key marketing issues. We'll also get into subcultural influences. By Thursday we ought to be done with that and will move on the next topic: Social Stratification.
Finally, if you haven't bought a copy of the Lecture Guide, CD, or DVD MegaPack yet, you can get them during normal office hours in the Marketing Department (suite 229, Rehn Hall).
